Tuesday Talk – Today’s My Lucky Day

This month I am going to talk all about the transformation that is spring. With the blossoming of spring we let go of the dirt and darkness of winter to be surrounded by color and new life. I will be talking about letting go of the old and making room for the new. Today's talk is all about luck.  It is appropriate that our luck holiday(St. Patrick's Day) precedes the first days of spring, as luck is all about growth and opportunity. It can feel like luck is random but is it? Lets look at how we can bring luck into our lives to create the changes we want.

Tuesday Talk - Today's My Lucky Day

What is luck

Luck is the quality of having things act in ways that are unintentional but beneficial to the person experiencing it. Luck is not necessarily something we can control. It works the best when we participate actively in situations even though they are not completely within our control. This is why the idea of luck is so present in games of chance. The participants have no real control over anything but themselves. They can use their skills and luck to create what they desire; i.e. a winning hand or dice throw.

How Luck and Faith are similar

In some ways luck and faith are related. We have to trust that luck will work to help us achieve the best possible outcome. If we have doubts or don't believe, thnn luck can only take us so far.

Luck on a Psychic Level

As a psychic I see luck as a flowing glittery, gold energy that bounces around. It influences the outcome of events. Everything it touches transforms into the best possible version of itself that this moment will allow. Like a pixie or the energy from a wand it has a magical quality. It is like the fairy godmother in Cinderella. As she aimed her wand at the dress, or the mice or the pumpkin, the magic transformed everything it touched into something new and golden-  things that Cinderella needed but didn't exactly expect  to become readily available. pexels-photo-24175 It feels good because luck has an effervescent excitement, like champagne. It is always flowing and moving from one situation to the next. Luck loves to move. When we try to force luck or keep it for ourselves it will almost always react in ways that are not in our own best interests.  There is some good news! We can and do create our own luck.

Luck is a mindset

The luckier you believe yourself to be the luckier you will be. Luck helps us see opportunity. There have been multiple experiments showing that people who viewed themselves as lucky tended to see and participate with opportunities differently than people who felt they were unlucky. It is like the shine or sparkle that catches our eye from across the room. We are able to notice the unseen treasures all around us. Luck is also about being present. When we are in the moment, we can participate with our luck. So many people miss out on amazing, life-changing opportunities because they aren't present. They aren't paying attention. People who feel themselves to be unlucky are more likely to have anxious or nervous personalities. Research has shown that anxious people are less likely to notice the strange or unexpected.  What is more unexpected than a lucky break? The energy of luck allows the strange or unexpected to be manifested into the real world.

Luck and faith are intertwined

When we have faith in ourselves and the world around us, luck can flow easily. Lucky objects work because of our faith in them. We act like it is a living being capable of granting a blessing. A rabbit's foot or a four leaf clover has no power on its own. It is our faith in luck that allows anything to develop. Luck can just happen but we are active participants with it, whether we know it or not. When we participate in certain situations or exhibit specific feelings, luck is more likely to be present. Luck thrives in environments with
  • Excitement
  • Adventure
  • Humor
  • Joy
  • Playfulness
  • Creativity
  • Gratitude
  • Patience
Luck grows in events that help bring us into the moment. We are in the moment in such a way that we are able to relax our expectations of how the world works. We can just let life happen around us. We let go of the need to fix or control things we have no power over. When we embrace the things that make luck thrive we will become fountains of luck. The luckiest people are fountains of luck. They create luck for themselves and for others, with little to no effort. The golden glittery energy of luck literally flows out of them into the world. It can be like the Midas touch without the terrible side effects. Success and prosperity are around almost every corner.

Bad Luck

On a psychic level bad luck doesn’t quite exist like good luck. Bad luck is a dark purplish black energy. It is flat and dull. It is sticky like tar or quick sand. Where luck is ever moving and changing, bad luck is like endless stagnation. Like luck, it can happen to us, but, more often than not, we create it unknowingly. It is an amalgamation of all the limiting beliefs we have. It is a projection of our negative world views, about ourselves or about a given situation. I see this energy acting as a trap for luck. If the bad luck energy is strong enough it will  use the captured luck to push events towards the worst possible outcome in the moment. We believe something will turn out poorly and our bad luck makes it so. Just as with luck, we can embrace or even project bad luck.

Bad luck is a mindset

What are some things that create bad luck?
  • Fear
  • Worry
  • Doubt
  • Judgement
  • Resistance
  • Embarrassment
  • Shame
  • Guilt
  • Anger/Irritation
  • Victim/Martyr
  • Stress
Things that make us want to flee the moment or not pay attention invite in this energy. We can be desperate for a situation to be over.  We go into auto pilot. We don't want to see or participate with the world around us. In these instances we have no desire to see or participate with the strange or unexpected. The unexpected is to be avoided at all costs. There is no room for luck to flow.

How to move past bad luck

It is helpful to know that we can create something different. This is not a definite permanent state of our lives. It is created by all the baggage we carry with us. If we can release feelings of fear and anger and hurt we can invite luck and abundance to take their place. We can become active participants in every moment. We can embrace the strange and unexpected.

Creating good luck

We create luck by moving out the things that hold us back. By letting ourselves be in the moment, we can  experience those things that feed good luck. Through meditation we can visualize luck flowing into every aspect of our lives. Just like anything, else we can practice creating luck. The more luck we create, the more we will feel its effects in life, until we too, become fountains of endless good luck.

Awareness

The first step to fostering a life full of good luck is to create a space of awareness. Are we letting ourselves be in the moment? Are we allowing ourselves to believe that we can be lucky? What kind of luck is our mindset more likely to create? Just making the space to have this information can help create change.

Meditation

Using the wisdom and knowledge of our awareness we can meditate to make changes in our mind. We can relax and release limiting beliefs. We can acknowledge what we are feeling and create space for luck to thrive. We can then imagine luck filling every aspect of our lives. As it flows in it can help create a wealth of opportunities. We can visualize these energies in our lives.
  • Luck
  • Opportunity
  • Growth
  • Abundance
  • Prosperity
  • Wealth
  • Ease
  • Gratitude
  • Patience
  • Love
  • Excitement
  • Adventure
  • Creativity
  • Joy
Any and all of these will help create a life that is overflowing with luck and good fortune.
